He was born in Bruneck. He competed first in ski mountaineering in 1999 and has been member of the national team since 2002. Among his trophies, 2 times winner of the World Cup (Overall), 3 wins at Pierramenta, 2 wins at Mezzalama, 75 podiums (World Cup – European Cup), 20 Italian titles.
